UCA.5 :: design experiment 1

1. Seed
Seed could be the symbols of life and growing.
UCA is running the courses related to Arts and Design.
So, I try to use the image of seed to show Creative-ties are growing in UCA.

2. Tree
UCA is like a creative tree. Trees are like a living organism and need (water) effort and (light) skills to produce fruit. The identity of the whole unit is all block, as you can see there is something in the tree. I try to use this image to show that we are a creating something and also using the simple shape could have more possibility in imagination. When tuning into the identities of each campus, you can see each tree has five circles and each of them produce a diverse mix of creative fruits.

3. Gear wheels
When we turn one wheel, others will follow. I try to show that we are working and producing the creative design work in the UCA. The gear wheels are showing the connection between five campuses and also the relationship between student and tutor.

4. Newton’s cradle
If one ball is pulled away and allowed to fall it appears to come to a dead stop after hitting the other ball. The ball on the opposite side of the series appears to instantly acquire the speed of the first ball and swings in an arc that one would expect of the first ball.
I want to use those dynamic balls to convey the relationship with 5 different campuses and also the relationship with the students and tutor in UCA.

5. Folding ruler
UCA has 5 campuses so those 3 of abbreviations were made from pentagon. Each side represents each campus.
The letter “C” is the only one that has color for standing out from others to enhances the fact that UCA is the only university with “creative” in the title.
Moreover, those three letters are screwed together by small dots, just like a folding ruler. This idea could also apply on the future promotion and website. Using this folding ruler to create any kind of possibility images and shapes.
